When The Horse Says No: Rethinking Problem Behaviour In Sport Horses
This article addresses the shifting paradigm in modern equestrianism regarding unwanted horse behaviours, traditionally labelled as “naughtiness”, “evasion”, or “disobedience”. These labels place the source of the problem in the horse, and they have shaped practice accordingly, as the conventional response to a horse deemed naughty or difficult has usually been correction, restraint, or escalating pressure.
